June 6th Minister’s Retreat 2025 Day 1: Whatever He Tells You To Do, Do!

Day 1 of the 6 Days With The Holy Ghost Minister’s Retreat commenced with an atmosphere charged with expectation, held at Asero under the leading of the Holy Spirit. The theme for the retreat, “Whatever He Tells You to Do, Do!” (John 2:5), set the tone for what was not just another gathering—but a divine appointment for ministers to be sharpened, stirred, and sent.

The meeting opened with heartfelt prayers led by Brother Gbenga Banjoko, who led the ministers into a sacred time of intercession. It was not just prayer as usual—it was a stirring for sharpened spiritual discernment. He reminded us that before we can do what the Lord commands, we must first hear Him. As it is written in John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

Following the prayers, we raised our voices in the opening hymn, “What A Friend We Have in Jesus.”
This timeless hymn reminds us of the privilege we have in carrying everything—our burdens, questions, and obedience—to God in prayer. It was a sweet fragrance rising to Heaven, a moment that realigned our hearts with the Friend who sticks closer than a brother.

The service continued with a powerful session of praise and worship. The presence of God was tangible—tears, joy, and deep reverence filled the room.

We were honored to receive the undiluted Word of God through God’s servant, Mr. Olalekan Kola. He taught on the topic: “The Compliant Believer”—a timely message for every minister in this generation.

Anchoring the teaching in John 2:5“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” — he carefully, by the help of the Holy Spirit, broke down the sentence into four powerful truths:

  1. WhateverThis signifies that anything God asks us to do is valid, but it will never contradict His Word. Obedience is not limited by human logic or convenience.
  2. HeThis refers to God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Mr. Kola challenged us: “Who is God to you?” Our level of obedience often reflects our revelation of who God is.
  3. Tells – God is not silent! He speaks. Referencing Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye,” he reminded us that God is eager to lead His people.
  4. Do – Obedience requires action. There is no time for delay or procrastination in the Kingdom. The time to act is now!

We entered a moment of intense prayer, committing ourselves to become not just hearers, but doers of His Word. The Spirit of God moved among us, bringing conviction, healing, and fresh fire.

We closed with the hymn, “To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Hath Done,”—a fitting response to all the Lord had begun on this first day. The service ended with the sharing of grace in fellowship, and ministers shared light refreshments, fellowshipping in the joy of the Lord.

Truly, Day 1 was a divine encounter. Our hearts were transformed, our spirits revived, and our resolve to obey the Lord deepened. If this was only the beginning, we can only imagine what greater things God has in store in the days ahead.
