On July 28, 2024, we held a special outreach near the historic Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, the first church in both Abeokuta and Nigeria. This strategic location added a significant dimension to our message, as we shared the Gospel with a community deeply connected to the nation’s spiritual heritage.
The theme for the outreach, “Are You Saved?”, called attention to the urgency of salvation. As we set up our tent, the people from the surrounding environment welcomed us, and many came to sit under the tent to listen to the Word of God. It was a time of deep reflection and openness as the message of salvation was delivered.
A notable moment during the outreach was the presence of a woman who had been crippled from birth. She attended the meeting with her mother and friends, believing that God could heal her. We showered her with prayers, trusting the Lord for a miracle. Although no immediate healing manifested, we gave her hope through the Word, reassuring her that God is faithful and that healing can come in His time.
In addition to sharing the message of salvation, we reached out in kind to the needy in the community, reflecting the love of Christ in both word and deed. Though we may not have seen physical healing that day, the outreach was filled with hope, faith, and the planting of spiritual seeds that we trust God will continue to nurture.
We left Ake with hearts full of gratitude for the opportunity to minister and touch lives, believing that many who heard the message will reflect on the question, “Are You Saved?”
