WHAT IS LOVE?
- Love is what substitutes the entire law. Romans 13:8.
- Love is a commandment. John 13:34, John 15:12, 1 John 4:11.
- Love embodies the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22.
- Love is an expression of faith. Galatians 5:6.
- Love is sacrifice. John 3:16, Romans 5:6 MSB.
- Love is giving unconditionally. John 15:12-13.
- Love is giving up. Romans 5:8, Genesis 22:2-3.
- Love is obedience. Genesis 22:2-3, Philippians 2:8.
- Love is having compassion. Matthew 9:36, Matthew 14:14, Matthew 20:34, Luke 7:13.
CASE STUDIES
1. God – John 3:16
God demonstrates His love towards us all by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us.
HOW DO YOU LOVE?
- The love of God is poured out/shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5
- Have a knowledge of the depth of the love of God. Romans 5:8.
- JOY (GLADNESS) – Nehemiah 8:10
WHAT IS JOY?
- Joy is simply the fulfilment when you do or abide in the will of God.
- It also means an inner positive energy that springs forth regardless of the situation.
- It is the strength received when one is walking in the will of God.
2. Nehemiah – Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
3. The 70 – Luke 10:17
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
HOW DO YOU LIVE IN JOY?
a. Encourage yourself in the Lord.
b. Find yourself always in the will of God.
c. Confess positive things. Remember, positive things can only be found in the Word of God. The world is designed to introduce negatives to your hearing and sight.
