Day 2 ushered us into a greater dimension of God’s presence and power. The service opened with prayers, where the ministers and participants earnestly asked that the Lord take over the entire meeting and grant every heart a divine encounter. There was a strong atmosphere of expectation and reverence.
The opening hymn was led by Brother Subomi Banjoko. As the congregation lifted their voices to sing “Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How great Thou art,” it stirred a deep sense of awe and wonder. This chorus reminds us of God’s unmatched greatness and overwhelming majesty, drawing our souls to worship Him in truth.
Heartfelt prayers followed, led by Brother Daniel Babalola, who stirred the congregation with scriptural supplications. One of the anchor scriptures for the prayer session was Ephesians 1:18 (KJV):
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”
We prayed fervently that the Lord would open our spiritual eyes and grant us insight into His will.
The Word of God came powerfully through God’s servant, Mr. Olalekan Kola, who continued teaching on the theme “The Compliant Believer.” He highlighted five vital keys to becoming a believer who truly obeys and aligns with God’s will. Two major keys were explored in depth:
Key 1: The Knowledge of God
Supporting Scriptures: Daniel 11:32b – “But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
John 17:3 – “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Mr. Kola emphasized that the level to which you know God is directly proportional to the level of impact you can make in His kingdom.
To truly know God is to:
- Have a relationship with Him — through intentional devotion and intimacy.
- Have an encounter with Him — personally experiencing His voice, power, and presence.
He noted that encounters with God often come through His Word and through fellowship — a deliberate pursuit of His presence.
Key 2: Submission to God
This was defined as knowing what to do from a human standpoint, but deliberately choosing God’s will over personal desires or logic.
Submission involves:
- Acknowledging God’s sovereignty – Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
- Substituting natural reasoning for divine direction, even when it defies logic – 2 Kings 5:10, the story of Naaman’s healing by dipping in the Jordan.
He emphasized that submission is built on humility, and any believer who submits to the leading of the Holy Spirit will never be misled.
Here’s a continuation and completion of your write-up, expanding on Keys 3 to 5 from the message “The Compliant Believer” delivered by Mr. Olalekan Kola:
Key 3: Trust
Text: Psalm 16:1
Trusting God means believing in His integrity, character, and promises. A compliant believer puts full confidence in God’s ability and sovereignty regardless of the situation.
How To Trust God
- Do not depend on flesh – Trusting in man or your own strength leads to failure. (Jeremiah 17:5)
- Believe what you’ve heard – Faith comes by hearing the Word. (Psalm 20:7; Romans 10:17)
- Be ready to take risks – Trust sometimes calls for bold steps of obedience. (Esther 4:15-16)
- Be ready to obey God’s guidance – Even when it is not convenient or logical.
Trusting God is not optional for the compliant believer. It is necessary because our safety and that of others are tied to our trust in God. When we trust Him, we align ourselves with His promises and plans.
Key 4: Obedience
Text: Isaiah 1:19-20
To fulfill divine purpose, the believer must remain in the posture of obedience. Not just any obedience—but complete, prompt, and heartfelt obedience.
Mr. Olalekan emphasized that partial obedience or obedience based on convenience is disobedience. God values not just the outcome, but also the process.
How To Obey God
- Take deliberate action – (Acts 10:8)
- Hold God in high esteem – Reverence for God fuels obedience.
- Keep His commandments – (Proverbs 7:2)
- Be willing to do whatever He tells you – (John 2:5)
Benefits of Obeying God:
- You shall eat the good of the land – (Isaiah 1:19)
- You receive multiplication and increase – (Deuteronomy 28:1–2)
- The blessings of God follow the obedient – (Deuteronomy 28:3–6)
- There is a reward for every instruction you obey – (Hebrews 11:6; James 1:25)
Key 5: Faith Action
Text: Hebrews 11:6
Faith is not just belief; it’s acting upon what God has said. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). Faith action means taking steps based on the Word, even when the result is not yet visible.
A compliant believer does not wait for the conditions to be perfect before acting. He moves at the word of God. It is taking action in righteousness. We can engage Faith by hearing The word of God. (Romans 10:17). We must also know that without Faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6). The Just shall live by Faith.
Characteristics of Faith Action:
- It is immediate – Delayed action is disobedience.
- It is bold – It defies fear and logic.
- It is persistent – Even when results are not immediate.
- It is rooted in God’s word – Not emotions or assumptions.
The session concluded with a fervent prayer session, where we cried out to God for grace to be compliant — to hear His voice and obey, even when it seems inconvenient or unreasonable
Indeed, Day 2 was a deeper dive into divine alignment. From worship to Word to prayer, the atmosphere was thick with God’s glory. It was a wonderful time in God’s presence, leaving every attendee with a deeper hunger to know, submit to, and walk with God.
