October 2024 Street Evangelism Day 3

The third day of our October Street Evangelism began with preparation and anticipation, but not without challenges. We loaded our equipment, including the sound system, into the hired truck, ready to take the message of Christ to the streets of Abeokuta. Our destination was Lantoro Roundabout, but before we could set off, two obstacles arose that tested our resolve.

The first challenge was the weather. The sky was overcast, and it seemed like rain was about to pour, threatening to disrupt the evangelism. We paused and prayed, asking the Lord to hold back the rain until we were done with His work. God, in His faithfulness, answered our prayers, and the skies remained clear throughout the event.

The second challenge came as we tried to start the generator, which was essential for powering the sound system. Just as we were about to begin, the starter rope of the generator snapped, leaving us momentarily stranded. What seemed like a small issue turned into a 20-minute delay as we worked to fix it. But, by God’s grace, we prevailed, got the generator running, and were ready to head out.

With everything finally in place, we embarked on our journey to Lantoro Roundabout, equipped with our flyers and the Word of God. As we moved through the streets, we encountered different reactions from the people. Many accepted our flyers, showing interest in the upcoming crusade and the message of salvation. Some, however, politely declined, expressing that they wouldn’t be available.

Despite the mixed reactions, our team remained joyful and focused on the mission. The sound of worship music from our truck filled the streets, creating an atmosphere of hope and encouragement. We knew that even those who declined our invitation were still hearing the message of Christ through the music and our presence.

By the end of the outreach, we reflected on the day with gratitude. The initial challenges with the weather and generator could have dampened our spirits, but God showed up in every situation, allowing us to continue His work. It was another reminder that in every circumstance, He takes the glory.

We look forward to the fruit that will come from this outreach as we trust God for a harvest of souls. To Him alone be all the glory!
